Travis is a podcaster, teacher, and presenter based in Hawaii, he is currently working as a design leader at YouTube Music, previously Google Search.

Travis Neilson is recognized as one of the design industry’s most prolific creatives. He is the host of a number of productions including Google's external design podcast – the Google Method, in addition to other youtube channels, training materials, conference talks, videos series, streams, and events.

 

Travis has worked with organizations such as Adobe, Google, SCAD, Invision App, and more to bring education and inspiration to over a million creative professionals. Travis' mission is to make things that bring people together.

In this talk Travis will dive into the presentation secrets of stand up comedians. Learn to hold an audience's attention, engagement, and interest while presenting your work. Stand up comedians encounter many of the same situations and communication requirements as many other creative professionals, but they have developed tools for keeping cool in a hot room and winning over a tough crowd. Learn to focus the mind of the listener on the most important details using punchlines and callbacks. This talk includes practical lessons and insights from bombing (and recovering) on stage.
