About the speaker
Mariana Pedroza is an artist and designer based in Mexico City. She's currently a co-founder at Together. With two prestigious Red Dot Design Awards under her belt, Mariana’s journey is a testament to her adaptability and relentless pursuit of excellence. She worked for start-ups as a design executive and a user experience designer for eight years. Later on, she took a pivotal role in leading the design culture strategy at BBVA,—the largest and most influential bank in LATAM, where she not only scaled the design team from 80 to over 200 designers but also played a pivotal role in launching transformative products that touched the lives of 17 million users in the Mexican finance industry.
Previously, she dedicated her time to teaching design at Tecnológico de Monterrey, a renowned institution in Mexico and LATAM, where she introduced students to cutting-edge tools like Figma, breaking through tech and geographical barriers to empower the next generation of designers. Today, Mariana leverages Figma to collaborate on diverse design projects alongside global talents, including her creative partnership with Pablo Stanley. Figma has become her linchpin for fostering seamless collaboration and communication across borders, allowing her to execute projects with clarity and effectiveness. Mariana’s inspirational journey exemplifies the transformative power of design and the boundless possibilities that emerge when creative minds unite.

The Mediated Self: How AI is Creating an Ambiguous Border Between Perception and Reality
What used to be a simple interface between body and machine is now a complex, ever-changing entity with an exponentially growing scale. The influence of AI on how we view the world is becoming increasingly evident as it reaches every aspect of our lives. In this talk, we’ll take a look at how AI is changing our perceptions of ourselves and the environment. With my personal experience, I will dive into the social and psychological effects of this shift, which will lead us to talk about how important it is to create a digital space where people feel safe being themselves and where they can develop positive relationships with technology.
